North West Community Fund
April 29, 2021The club is planning to use the donation towards the development of a Multi-Use Gaming Area (MUGA) for the residents in Wilmslow and Styal.
The club is based at Wilmslow Phoenix Sports Club (WPSC), along with Wilmslow Hockey Club and various other sporting organisations. The MUGA, which will be a sports shooting area, will benefit all of the Lacrosse clubs’ playing age sections and the wider community.
Chairman of Wilmslow Lacrosse Club, Tony Warriner, commented, “The scheme shows David Wilson Homes’ commitment to the community in which they develop in. They’re not simply donating funds to larger organisations, but looking closely at the needs of and requirements of residents in the areas local to their developments.
“WPSC hosts Junior Football and Cricket coaching, as well as Bowls, Croquet, Archery, and local fitness clubs that we hope can use the new sporting area to benefit the residents of Wilmslow, Styal, and the wider Cheshire area.”
Philippa Stewart, Head of Sales at David Wilson Homes North West, said: “As one of the UK’s leading developers, it is really important that we support charities and local organisations in our surrounding area.
“Wilmslow Lacrosse Club is a great example of a sporting organisation going the extra mile to benefit local residents. Their work alongside other clubs, and commitment to the community emphasises their ethos for teamwork and further development.”
Tony continued, “On behalf of our members at Wilmslow Lacrosse Club, as well as other organisations in the WPSC, we send our thanks and gratitude to David Wilson Homes for their support.
“As a gesture of thanks, we will be displaying the David Wilson Homes logo on our facility’s “buy a brick” wall to highlight their commitment to the community.”
