Colleagues at David Wilson Homes in North Wales have been showing their love for British Heart Foundation by swapping their navy uniforms to sport red clothing for the charity’s “Wear It. Beat It.” campaign.
The British Heart Foundation asked as many people as possible across the UK to wear red as a striking show of support to fund lifesaving research into heart and circularity disease.
The teams at Wepre Green in Flintshire donated £1 each per red item to support Heart Month and has raised over £70 so far with contributions still pouring in.
Steve Jackson, sales director at Wepre Green, said: “The team has got completely behind the British Heart Foundation campaign this year in a bid to help more hearts keep beating.
“It is a cause that really struck a chord with the colleagues working on site and in the sales office, who were all happy to play their part to raise funds.”
Coronary heart disease is the UK’s biggest killer. There are currently 7m people living with cardiovascular disease in the UK, including heart attacks and strokes.
This is the first time that the teams in North Wales were part the British Heart Foundation’s campaign and next year the house builder hopes to raise even more across all sites in the North West for its supported charities.
