North West Community Fund
May 24, 2016Warrington children’s basketball team, The Bridgewater Jets Purple, has spruced up its training sessions with a brand new kit, thanks to support from local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes (DWH) North West.
The team, which is made up of Warington children aged 10-12, successfully applied for funds through DWH North West’s charitable and community scheme, North West Community Fund, to purchase brand new kits for use during training sessions and games. Each of the 12 players on the team has received a brand new pair of shorts, vest and sweatshirt to make them stand out when they hit the basketball court.
Andrew Taylor, North West Community Fund Project Coordinator and Planning Director at DWH North West, comments: “At David Wilson Homes, we are dedicated to building strong communities in areas surrounding our developments. The Bridgewater Jets Purple is a great group providing a lot of fun and sporting skills for local children, so we were only too happy to step in and provide a new kit for the team.”
The housebuilder’s North West Community Fund scheme offers support to community groups in the region through volunteering time or funding. Applications can be made through its website: www.northwestcommunityfund.co.uk.
DWH North West has recently scooped a prestigious Five Star award by the National Home Builder’s Federation (NHF) for the seventh consecutive year – the only national housebuilder to achieve this accolade.
