Community Impact
May 10, 2011We have recently been helping Warrington children to learn all about building site safety, when we welcomed pupils from Stockton Heath Primary School to our Walton Locks development.
During the visit, the children were given a tour of Walton Locks, as well as receiving an informative talk on how to stay safe around construction areas. They also learnt about how we build and use certain products.
Furthermore, the pupils were also given a demonstration from one of our bricklayer’s, Ian Leef, which gave them valuable insight into life in the construction industry.
Steve Jackson, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes North West, comments: “At David Wilson Homes North West, safety is always regarded as our number one priority, both for our employees and the wider community surrounding our sites. We wanted to raise awareness of the dangers building sites can harbour amongst those close by, particularly local children.
“We have really enjoyed working with Stockton Heath Primary School and are pleased to say that the talk and information was very well received among the pupils. The visit provided a fantastic opportunity to encourage the children to get involved with what’s going on in their area and we look forward to working with them again in the near future.”
Ann Collins, a teacher at Stockton Heath Primary School, adds: “All the children really enjoyed the site visit, and we’d like to thank David Wilson Homes for inviting us along and teaching the children valuable knowledge about health and safety. We all look forward to visiting the site again in the future.”
