May 3, 2024We contributed £1,500 to Preston-based charity, The Foxton Centre, to assist those in need throughout the local area.

The Foxton Centre has been active for 54 years, working with marginalised people in the area. There are several branches to its operation, including youth work, homelessness and rough sleepers, and vulnerable women.
From youth clubs running six days a week, to offering emergency accommodation, to helping women escape the entrapments of sex work, The Foxton Centre is instrumental in supporting individuals all throughout Preston.
Jeff Marsh, Chief Executive Officer at The Foxton Centre, said: “This is an exciting period for the Foxton Centre. We have delivered three major new projects; a 14-bed emergency hostel which opened in June 2022, the homeless day centre which opened December 2022, and our newly refurbished women’s centre.
“We can use the donation either to support one of these work areas, or open ended. The £1,500 would provide food at our rough sleepers’ breakfast sessions for a month, or it could be used to take a group of young people away on a residential experience they wouldn’t usually get.
“Local charities like ours provide a lifeline in our communities. We feel the cost-of-living crisis faced by ordinary families very keenly and help the most marginalised cope a little better.”
Gavin Powell, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North West, said: “The Foxton Centre is an excellent charity, which provides vital services to many in the Preston and Lancashire area.
“Our Community Fund scheme allows us to help organisations such as this and it’s a privilege to be able to support the work of the charity’s hard-working volunteers.”
