Second Consultation Event, 11th October

Town Lane

December 5, 2012 Second Consultation Event, 11th October

In May of this year Sefton Council, in Partnership with David Wilson Homes North West held a public consultation event at Kew Woods Primary School which provided an update of progress relating to the site at Town Lane, Kew: a piece of land allocated in the Sefton Unitary Development Plan for new housing and community development and the extension of the adjacent Business Park.

A ‘blank canvas’ approach was taken at that event, with the views of the community invited to shape and guide the development of the site. The event was very well attended and many comments and suggestions were received. Over the past few months, David Wilson Homes North West, The Southport Partnership and Sefton Council have been looking at the issues raised to ensure they have been considered in the overall design process.

We would now like to invite you to a second public consultation event where you can view the latest draft masterplan and draft detailed design of the scheme including house design, greenspace and road layouts, whilst also seeing how the previous comments from the first consultation event have been taken on board.

The second consultation event will take place at Kew Woods Primary School, Ovington Drive, Southport, PR8 6JW on Monday 11th October, from 2.45pm – 7.00pm.

The views of the local community are very important to us. It is vital that local people are involved and have a real say on what they would like to see within the development in order to develop a truly cohesive community. Please take the opportunity to do so.

Following the event, community suggestions will be further considered within the design of the scheme. Further consultation will then take place as part of the planning application process later this year.
