Town Lane
December 5, 2012We are delighted to confirm that a planning application for the entire site was submitted to Sefton Borough Council on 29th March 2012. The application was submitted on behalf of David Wilson Homes North West and Priory Asset Management Ltd. The application documents can be viewed at the Council’s website be using the following link and searching for application reference S/2012/0400.

The application includes the following:
– 668 houses and apartments;
– an extra care development comprising 126 homes and a 44 bed-space respite and dementia care building (to be provided by Priory Asset Management Ltd);
– a small retail unit with apartments over;
– a business park to deliver with two car show rooms.
The business park is submitted for OUTLINE planning consent. This means the use will be established, but the specific design of buildings and their layout is reserved for a future application. All other parts of the development are submitted for FULL planning consent, meaning that the full design of the buildings and landscape has been submitted to the Council.
This application is the culmination of much hard work by all the partners over the last two years. The design has built upon the community consultation work carried out previously, and has included many changes that benefit existing residents. The design has largely followed the concepts discussed at consultation stages and as such we are confident that it will find favour with the local community. Specifically the construction of Town Lane in a new position away from existing homes will reduce disruption during construction. The new linear park will now be located over the existing Town Lane route, creating an enhanced setting to the existing homes. The proposed housetypes are Kew specific and will ensure that the character and style of the proposed development will be unique to this location.
The Local Authority application consultation period is underway. Should you wish to make any representations or have any comments, these can be made directly to the Local Authority to: Steve Faulkner, Assistant Team Leader, Planning Services (Development Management), Magdalen House, 30 Trinity Road, Bootle, L20 3NJ.
It is anticipated that the planning application will be heard at Planning Committee during Summer 2012, where hopefully it will be approved. This will enable remediation works to commence later this year, with a view to construction work on the houses commencing during 2013 for first occupations during 2014.
