Community Impact
April 30, 2012David Wilson Homes North West is delighted to confirm that plans to build on the former Blackburn Royal Infirmary site have been agreed, after a resolution to approve was passed last week.
Plans for 116 stunning new homes have been signed off by Blackburn and Darwin council’s planning committee. The site will predominantly consist of two and three bedroom properties with one and four bedroom homes also available.
Andrew Taylor, planning director at David Wilson Homes North West, explains: “This housing development is going to have a really positive effect on the area and we are very much looking forward to starting work on site.
“This new development also creates various community opportunities and we encourage groups in the Blackburn area in need of support to contact us through our successful North West Community Fund initiative.”
The North West Community Fund scheme, launched at the end of 2010, offers a dedicated fund from which groups in the region can apply for a contribution, of either time or finances, to support a community project.
Contributions from £100 to £1500 are offered, the only condition is that the funding is used for something that will genuinely enhance or improve a service, facilities or the environment within their local area.
To apply, simply download and complete an application form.
