Project Support
May 23, 2011
This month we were delighted to make a £500 donation to the City of Chester Training Band, which will help the group travel to London to perform a special concert in Hyde Park to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
The City of Chester Training Band was launched in April 2000 and aims to teach brass band music to children, young people and adults in the Chester area.
Tony Blain, Coordinator, comments: “Within the City of Chester Training Band we not only provide entertainment for the people of Chester and its surrounding areas, but we also strive to nurture the musical talent of those within our group. It’s a great way to socialise and make friends, whilst doing something we all love.
“Over the past 10 years the group has gone from strength-to-strength so it was a real honour to be asked to play a concert in Hyde Park to mark this milestone. However, as we are a voluntary group, securing funding can be very difficult. We were therefore delighted when David Wilson Home North West offered its support. Everyone is really looking forward to the concert so we would like to offer our thanks to David Wilson Home North West for their generosity.”
