September 27, 2012Warrington rugby club, Rylands Sharks is celebrating after being awarded £1,500 from North West Community Fund.
Following a successful application, the club was given the money to spend on much needed kit for its under 7s team.
The team’s 21 players will benefit from the new training kits which include shorts, t-shirts, training tops and socks to help ensure their success this season.
Liam Kirkham, head coach for the under 7s at Rylands Sharks, said: “On behalf of Rylands Sharks and all the children who have benefited from the money, I would like to say a big thank you to David Wilson Homes North West. It will make a massive difference to our players and we are all extremely grateful.
“This contribution will ensure that the youngsters have everything they need to be successful this season and can stand proud their new kit. It will also hopefully encourage others to get involved.”
Graham Swann, managing director for David Wilson Homes North West, adds: “As a company, we appreciate that our commitment is not only to build quality homes but also to help create a positive legacy in the communities in which we work.
“Rylands Sharks rugby club is a big part of the local community, helping children of all ages stay active and make new friends and we were delighted to provide it with this funding for new kit.”

North West Community Fund supports community groups with either volunteer time or funding, the only condition is that the funding is used for something that will genuinely enhance or improve a service, facilities or the environment within the local area.
