Little Ewan rallies donations for Christmas campaign

The North West Community Fund Christmas campaign has received a big boost from a little boy, who called on local people to make donations to help those in need.

Ewan Davies, aged 7 from Rossett, heard about the campaign to collect food items for charity from his mother, Ceri Davies, who is a sales adviser at David Wilson Homes North West.

The housebuilder is calling on the public to donate non-perishable food, such as long life milk and pasta, to special donation stations at its developments across the region in aid of The Ashley Foundation and Warrington foodbank.

After collecting up items from home, Ewan wrote to his grandparents who are both active members at local church, The Ruthin Christian Fellowship. In his letter he asked other church-goers if they could bring in any unwanted tins of food ‘to help people who don’t have much…because it’s not nice to be hungry’.

So far, Ewan has collected more than 50 items of food including everything from biscuits to breakfast cereals, all of which will be donated to the two charities in time for Christmas.

North West Community Fund helps community groups with either volunteer time or funding, the only condition is that this support is used for something that will genuinely enhance or improve a service, facilities or the environment within the local area.
