Community Impact
December 22, 2016Sandbach’s much loved Santa and Sleigh tour around the town this year reached more families than ever, thanks to support from local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes (DWH) North West for the second year running.
The annual tradition organised by Sandbach Round Table enables hundreds of kids to enjoy a magical visit to their homes from Santa in his brightly lit sleigh to deliver gifts.
Last year, organisers appealed to the homebuilder’s charitable arm, North West Community Fund, for funds to help maintain the upkeep of the sleigh and extend the route to homes that may have otherwise missed out – including DWH’s Moss Lane development, Gilbert’s Cross. So successf
ul was the partnership, that DWH jumped at the chance to help bring festive fun to the area again in 2016.
The development was also utilised as an official Santa’s Stop destination, enabling organisers to invite local people who could not be reached to come along and meet Santa.
DWH Sales Director, Steve Jackson, said: “We were only too happy to once again support such a worthwhile local tradition, and it was wonderful for our new and existing residents at Gilbert’s Place to enjoy Santa calling at their door.
“When families first move in, children often ask our sales advisers on site how Santa will find them at their new addresses and make it into the home when he can’t make his traditional entry via a chimney. What better way than this to welcome our new families at Christmas, and also give something back to the whole community.”
Sandbach Round Table Chairman Paul Hornby, commented: “It was fantastic to have DWH on board again this year. It’s always challenging trying to reach as many families as possible, and this support helped us achieve our aim of visiting more children than ever before.”
Gilbert’s Cross has a range of three, four and five bedroom homes, with prices ranging from £179,995 to £429,995. The site’s sales office is open Monday 12.30 – 5.30pm and Thursday to Sunday 10am – 5.30pm. Call 0844 811 33 66 for more information or visit www.dwh.co.uk.
