Project Support
September 25, 2011We are currently working with the Thornton Library to support its ‘Junior Gardening Gang’ project, supporting them on their initiative and flexing our green fingers.
The ‘Junior Gardening Gang’ comprises enthusiastic volunteers of all ages who help plan, grow and maintain the garden at Thornton Library.
Our support will enable the library to purchase a webcam for the garden, which will help to offer educational opportunities for local children, by giving them the chance to view local wildlife in the garden’s nesting boxes.
Joan Hockey, branch manager at Thornton Library, comments: “We were absolutely thrilled when we found out David Wilson Homes North West were happy to support our project. Since we built the bird table and nesting box in our garden, the children have all became very interested in wildlife and wanted to find out what was happening inside the nesting box – now the webcam will enable us to show them, and consequently, devlelop our educational programme.
“We look forward to showing David Wilson Homes how much this webcam has helped the local children.”
Graham Swann, managing director at David Wilson Homes North West, comments: “We are delighted to support Thornton Library’s project. We are always keen to help enhance the local environment, and this project was the perfect opportunity to do this.
“We look forward to seeing how much the garden has progressed later in the year.”
