Community Impact
May 14, 2013David Wilson Homes North West, in partnership with Wilson Bowden Developments, Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council and Greater Manchester Metrolink, has helped to fund the delivery of the new Kingsway Metrolink stop, which opened earlier this year and provides improved accessibility to the Business Park via public transport.
To ensure this new Metrolink stop is accessible for residents of David Wilson Homes North West’s Kingsway development, which is situated adjacent to the Business Park, a new foot/cycle path connecting the site to the new Metrolink stop has also been developed.
This new feature will not only provide Kingsway residents with easy access to Rochdale and Manchester city centres, but will also make commuting to and from Kingsway Business Park much more convenient for Rochdale residents.
Andrew Taylor, Planning Director for David Wilson Homes North West, comments: “David Wilson Homes North West is committed to improving and enhancing the local communities surrounding its developments and supporting the new Metrolink stop is a perfect example of this commitment.”
In addition, the introduction of this new Metrolink stop marks continued progress at Kingsway Business Park, which has recently been named as one of the top 10 most active regeneration projects in the country, partly attributed to the sale of homes at the development*.
