May 16, 2016Employees at David Wilson Homes North West are set to cycle, kayak, swim and trek to charity success as they take part in a ‘try-athlon’ of sporting events to raise money for Liverpool’s Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
The 30 intrepid employees, who will take part in four gruelling fitness challenges, have embarked on a serious training regime and are seeking local support to try and reach their fundraising target of £20,000.
Last year, the team took part in the Coast to Coast one day bike ride and raised over £16,000. To better this impressive achievement, colleagues from the Warrington based housebuilder will undertake four events, comprising the Manchester 10km run on the 22nd May, the Manchester one mile open water swim at Salford Quays on the 2nd July and the 100 mile Liverpool sportive bike ride, on the 3rd July.
Finally, the plucky employees will take part in the Consiton Challenge, a one day extreme kayak, trek and cycle challenge on the 9th July.
With the emphasis on ‘try’ rather than athletic ability, the David Wilson Homes team will be able to choose how many events to complete.
Event organiser, Jason Corner, development director at David Wilson Homes North West, said: “The team love a challenge, and this is a commitment from all of us for a large part of the year. Knowing that we are raising money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity will spur us on as we undertake some of the region’s most gruelling runs and races.
“We want to raise as much money as possible for the Liverpool based charity, which does amazing work throughout the North West and will be extremely grateful for any donations local people can provide.”
David Wilson Homes North West offers a wide range of homes at developments across the region, from modern one bedroom apartments through to luxury five bedroom family homes.
