Project Support
September 27, 2012Matrix Cheer Squad, a competitive all-star cheerleading club based in Crewe, has recently received funding through David Wilson Homes North West’s popular North West Community Fund scheme, which provides support to local community groups.
The cheerleading club has put the £400 donation towards the purchase of safety mats to create a ‘cheer flooring’ at their gym based at a warehouse on Middlewich Street in Crewe.
Leanne Palin, owner and head coach at Matrix Cheer Squad, comments: “We were delighted to receive funding from David Wilson Homes North West. Safety mats are surprisingly expensive so we are extremely grateful of this donation.
“As an expression of our appreciation, a team of our cheerleaders recently performed at the opening of Dakota Park, a lovely park set in the heart of David Wilson Homes’ Chapelford Village development in Warrington. It was a wonderful day with a lot of fun and laughter – it was great to give something back.”
David Ince, North West Community Fund Project Coordinator at David Wilson Homes North West, adds: “The North West Community Fund scheme has provided a lot of support to worthwhile organisations and charities in the North West. We are particularly keen to support those who encourage an active lifestyle and the Matrix Cheer Squad certainly does that!”
With more than 100 male and female members, aged from just three years old to adult, a range of classes are held throughout the week for all abilities. For more information about the cheerleading club please visit www.matrixcheersquad.com.
The closing date for the current round of North West Community Fund entries is 30 September 2012 and successful applicants will be announced at the end of October 2012.
