North West Community Fund
August 17, 2017Local homebuilder David Wilson North West has donated £500 to the Connah’s Quay Tigers FC through its ‘North West Community Fund’ community initiative. The scheme aims to support community projects and local charities throughout the North West. The money donated was used to buy the team a ride-on-Lawnmower, meaning the teams are able to play on a better quality pitch and focus on improving their skills.
Since launching ‘North West Community Fund’, David Wilson Homes has worked on a number of projects with schools and charities, including Liverpool’s Alder Hey Children’s Charity, Tarporley CE Primary School, Elworth Hall Primary and The Wingate Special Children’s Trust.
Connah’s Quay Tigers is a community based football club, run entirely by volunteers that provide an environment for children of all ages to play football. The club currently trains 11 teams with ages ranging from six to 18 as well as a disability football squad.
Steve Jackson, Sales Director at David Wilson North West said, “North West Community Fund is designed to help out people and teams such as Connah’s Quay Tigers, we want to ensure that the local communities continue to encourage health and fitness and is why we are very happy to make this donation to the team.”
Darren Sellings, Vice Chairman for Connah’s Quay Tigers said: “We want to thank David Wilson Homes for their generous donation. Now that we have invested in a ride-on-mower for cutting the pitch it saves us the expense of using a contractor and means we can spend more on the teams and the children. All the lawnmower needs is fuel and volunteers time!”
