Project Support
December 13, 2013David Wilson Homes North West has partnered with Chester Aid to the Homeless (CATH) to support people in need this Christmas, as part of this year’s North West Community Fund charity campaign.
Staff at the housebuilder’s North West head office and its developments across the region will be donating non-perishable food items to the charity, which supports homeless people in the community.
David Wilson Homes North West joined forces with Sainsbury’s to kick off the campaign by donating items such as long life milk, pasta and tinned fruit. Staff are also collecting toiletries and clothing, all of which will be donated to CATH in time for Christmas.
Steve Jackson, North West Community Fund Project Coordinator at David Wilson Homes North West, comments: “The North West Community Fund scheme is committed to improving local communities across the region. Through our Christmas campaign we are hoping, with the help of Sainsbury’s and CATH, to make a significant difference to local people in need.
“Our partnership with CATH follows on from last year’s successful campaign, in aid of Warrington foodbank and The Ashley Foundation, which saw more than 3,000 food items donated. We are hoping to continue our support for CATH and already have plans to collect unwanted Christmas gifts, such as toiletry sets, to donate to the charity in the New Year.”
Robert Bisset, Chief Executive at CATH, adds: “Christmas is a particularly busy and challenging time so we are extremely grateful for David Wilson Homes North West’s support. We are working with an increasing number of people, many of whom are in desperate need, and these donations are vital to the work that we do.”
CATH is Chester’s leading homeless charity and provides help and support to the city’s homeless community including food, accommodation, education and medical services. For more information or to donate visit www.cath.org.uk.
