Community Impact
April 20, 2018Leading home-builder David Wilson Homes North West has supported the Beechwood Barca Under 7s by sponsoring their new kit and buying new goals through its ‘North West Community Fund’ community initiative.
The scheme aims to support community projects and local charities throughout the North West.
The Under 7s are part of Beechwood JFC, a club which has FA Chartered Standard status and is one of the oldest junior football clubs in Runcorn, having existed for over 30 years.
This is the first season for Beechwood Barca and the boys have been improving week by week whilst playing in the Warrington League. All of the young players are encouraged by their coaches to develop their skills as well as being good representatives for the club.
Manager Roy Gilfoyle said, “It’s great that a company as big as David Wilson Homes takes an interest in the small communities they play a part in shaping.
“The kit helps the boys to really look the part and the new goals help us practice our shooting in training- it has really been paying off.
“The coaches and the boys, Sam, Josh, James, Ewan, Joseph, Daniel, Noah and Marley are all grateful for the support.
“The boys have obviously been benefiting from their new goals as the team has scored over 100 goals this season!”
Steve Jackson, Sales Director at David Wilson North West, said the homebuilder was delighted to be able to assist the club. He said: “As a leading homebuilder we pride ourselves in being able to truly support the communities in and around our developments. We endeavour to get involved with local organisations and individuals as often as we can, to contribute to the great work which they do.
“It is a pleasure to be able to support a team like Beechwood Barca and we look forward to seeing how the team progresses this season.”
