Project Support
December 21, 2010We are pleased to announce, that the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), a local organisation which works with terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children in the North West, has been selected as the first local organisation to receive funding from the North West Community Fund initiative. CAFT was awarded £750 to help fund a series of Christmas parties for their deserving members.
Helen Crowther, Senior Trust Fundraiser and Press Officer for CAFT, comments: “At CAFT we strive to help disadvantage children in the local area by providing them with life changing holidays, respite breaks, daytrips and of course, Christmas parties. We would like to thank David Wilson Homes North West for their kind contribution, which will help us to ensure that as many local children as possible are able to enjoy the Christmas season.”
We are delighted to offer CAFT the first contribution from our scheme. The fund is specifically designed to help and recognise worthwhile causes, so we are more than pleased to offer our support.
In addition to sponsoring the party, three members of the team volunteered to help out at the event, including Julian Digby, chairman of the engagement committee, who gave a special visit dressed as the Christmas character the children most wanted to see!
Our donation to CAFT is just the first of many contributions we hope to be giving to worthwhile causes across the region. Anyone else who is genuinely looking to support or improve their community should get in touch now.
